Family Fun

We've been quite busy here the last few days. My sister, her husband and their three kids came up Tuesday for a visit and we are having a blast. Yesterday, we went into Washington, D.C. and visited two of the Smithsonian museums (The Art and the Natural History). We must have walked at least five miles! Maybe ten!!! But it was a lot of fun. It was my nephew Harrison's 7th birthday and he was so excited because we got to go "subwaying" on the metro.

Harrison loves his "boy cousins" and has been Thad's shadow since they got here. Actually, Harrison has been asking to visit us since the day we closed on the house. On the day they were coming up here, Harrison got in his seat in the car, put on his earphones and his favorite music and sat there for two hours until they left. His Dad tried to get him to come inside, but he just said, "No. I'm fine." By the time they left, he was so exhausted he fell asleep almost immediately.

My nieces, Kaitlyn and Madison, have been a lot of fun too. They helped me bake a checkerboard cake for our July 4th feast. And we've learned to play a fun new game, fixed our hair and played piano.

Yay! I LOVE DC! We'll have to come up there and go again sometime. We've been twice, and still haven't seen everything. Sounds like you are really enjoying your family...I'm so happy for you. I love my friends, but there's nothing like family! Keep on posting!
